Isabel Appio
Founder

Isabel graduated from Central London Polytechinc with a BA Hons. in Communications and Media, and started out as a news reporter on Caribbean Times. She went on to become a features Editor at Time Out magazine, also writing for the Guardian and Observer newspapers. In 1993 she launched Britain's first black broadsheet newspaper, the award-winning Weekly Journal and went on to become Editorial Director of The Voice Group, the UK's leading ethnic publisher.

Isabel formed Sugar Media with business partner Ian Thomas in 2000 with their shared goal of developing a publishing company that would be a leader in the advocacy for education & training opportunities for people of all ages as well as the promotion of opportunities and information for a multi-cultural Britain & beyond.
